Refrigerator control panels serve as the primary HMI, where design and usability directly shape the overall user experience.
Through In-Mold Decoration (IMD) technology, Nissha delivers UI panels with hidden-til-lit interfaces, fingerprint-resistant clean surfaces, and metal-like expressions, while giving customers greater flexibility to adapt designs to different product grades and requirements.

IMD allows designers to approach refrigerator rear panel design with greater freedom, without separating decoration from molding considerations.
Below are key design approaches enabled by Nissha’s IMD technology.

Using the Same Mold
In-Mold Decoration (IMD) is a plastic molding process in which the decorative layer of a printed film is transferred onto the surface of a molded part during injection molding.
Our fingerprint-resistant coating finish helps keep refrigerator control panels looking clean, even when they are touched frequently during daily use.
In addition, the gapless surface design prevents dirt and smudges from accumulating, making the panel easy to wipe clean.
For enhanced durability, a hard-coat layer can also be applied to improve scratch resistance and maintain a refined appearance over time.

Metal-like finishes are widely favored in refrigerator design, as they naturally convey a cool, clean, and premium impression.
Nissha IMD enables highly refined metallic expressions across matte, glossy, and brushed finishes, capturing the sophisticated look of real metal with high visual fidelity.
These design-driven metal-like appearances are achieved through Nissha’s proprietary technology, while maintaining reliable touch performance and wireless connectivity.

“Hidden-til-lit”, or “dead front” interfaces enable flexible UI configurations without being constrained by fixed physical buttons.
Icons and displays remain invisible until activated, allowing interface layouts to be adapted to different product grades, user needs, and market requirements.

By changing films while using the same mold, design variations can be efficiently created without additional tooling.
This supports cost-effective development and faster design iteration for appliance programs.
